Guidelines
The contest is open to all Vermont residents, including seasonal residents and students enrolled in Vermont colleges. Entrants may be amateur or professional writers.
Submissions may be a short story, poem, play or essay on the theme of Vermont--Its People, the Place, Its History or Its Values.
Entries must be unpublished and less than 1,500 words long.

Prize
The winner will be selected by an independent panel of judges. The author will receive a cash prize of $1,500, and have the honor of seeing his or her piece published in Vermont Magazine.
